Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sanitation Supervisor to join our team at Michael Foods Inc. in Norwalk, Iowa. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of sanitation and quality in our food processing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sanitation and Quality Assurance: Supervise sanitation employees, clean and inspect equipment, and train staff to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety work rules, reinforce safety as a core value, and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Leadership and Communication: Lead cross-functional sanitation teams, communicate effectively with management and staff, and provide training and guidance to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure regulatory compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including those related to food safety and quality.
  • Inventory and Supply Management: Manage sanitation supplies, track trends, and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, minimum three years of experience in sanitation in the food industry.
  • Skills and Qualifications: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, write reports and procedure manuals, and effectively present information to internal and external customers.
  • Leadership and Communication: Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to communicate verbally and in writing, and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree, experience working with USDA, knowledge of CIP and Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
