About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team in the Office of Energy Projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, developing engineering analysis, and reviewing complex engineering reports related to our dam safety program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct inspections and develop engineering analysis related to the Commission's dam safety program
  • Prepare and review complex engineering reports related to hydroelectric projects
  • Meet with licensees, applicants, Federal and state agency staff, and engineering consultants to discuss engineering design and operating matters
Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National
  • A one-year probationary period may be required
  • A background investigation is required
  • Must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement
Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, you must have one full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 level. Specialized experience is defined as independently applying one or more of the following disciplines of civil engineering: structural, hydrologic, hydraulic, geotechnical, or engineering geology to the investigation, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of hydropower facilities or dams.
