Job Title: Orthodontic Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Orthodontic Assistant to join our team at Dental Care Alliance. As an Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our clinical team in delivering high-quality dental services.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patients by following established protocols and procedures.
  • Prepare patients for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, and positioning them for optimal care.
  • Provide information to patients and staff by answering questions and requests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist dentists and hygienists by sterilizing and delivering instruments, positioning instruments for access, and suctioning as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver materials, such as impression trays and dental materials, to the treatment area.
  • Expose and develop radiographic studies, pour and trim study casts, and polish removable appliances as required.
  • Help manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and post-operative instructions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Document dental care services by charting in patient records and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operations by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
  • Conserve dental resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to accomplish job results.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications:
  • X-ray license for the state of NJ, required.
  • 1 year of experience working as a Dental Assistant or training from a formal Dental Assistant program.
  • RDA, required.
