About the Role

Children's Minnesota is seeking a skilled Perfusion Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for operating extracorporeal circulation equipment, such as cardio pulmonary bypass during an open-heart surgery or any other medical procedure in which it is necessary to artificially support or temporarily replace a patient's circulatory or respiratory function.

Key Responsibilities

* Operate extracorporeal circulation equipment, including cardio pulmonary bypass machines and ventricular assist devices
* Provide support during eCPR and the regular maintenance of all ECMO circuits
* Priming all Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs) including placement and maintenance of VADs
* Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and other healthcare team members

Requirements

* Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion required within first twelve (12) months of employment
* Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Perfusion Technology. Master's degree preferred
* 5 years of experience preferred
