Staking Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Staking Engineer to join our team at Tipmont Wintek. As a Staking Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing and coordinating new, upgraded, or relocated overhead and underground electric utility lines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and coordinate new, upgraded, or relocated overhead and underground electric utility lines
  • Investigate voltage issues, capacity concerns, distributed energy, and service upgrades for Tipmont members
  • Manage your own schedule and guide and coordinate with internal and external crews, teams, contractors, members, and builders to accomplish goals
  • Create construction documents
  • Obtain permits, easements, and construction agreements
  • Oversee project progress to ensure schedules and budgets are met
  • Communicate with members, construction crews, and the public throughout projects
  • Determine pole attachment requirements
  • Represent the utility in communities we serve
  • Serve on a team to address after-hours outages
Requirements:
  • Associate or technical degree in a related field
  • Staking school or staking experience strongly preferred
  • Proficient writing and verbal skills
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver's license
