Position Overview:
At NorthBay Health, the role of a Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit involves delivering safe, effective, and high-quality nursing care to patients. This position adheres to Jean Watson's Theory of Caring and the principles of Relationship-Based Care, alongside NorthBay's professional nursing practice model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments, develop care plans, implement interventions, and evaluate outcomes for all patients under your supervision.
- Foster therapeutic relationships with patients and their families, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to enhance health promotion, maintenance, and recovery.
Educational Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited institution for professional registered nursing.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher is mandatory.
Licensure and Certifications:
- Possession of a valid, current, and unencumbered RN license from the State of California.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Telemetry certification is required within three months of employment.
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification is necessary within 18 months of hire.
- National Certification in Critical Care is preferred.
Experience and Skills:
- A minimum of six months of acute care RN experience is required, with one year in an ICU setting preferred.
- Proficient in delivering skilled nursing care to critically ill patients.
- Demonstrated competencies in patient assessment, medication management, and arrhythmia interpretation.
- Able to work autonomously and effectively.
- Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills are essential.
Additional Information:
- All RNs in the Patient Care Services Department are required to adhere to the professional appearance policy, which includes wearing Graphite (Dark Gray) colored scrubs.
Compensation:
The hourly pay range is based on years of experience.
Night Differential: $9.80 per hour
Evening Differential: $6.60 per hour
