Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and train dockworkers and yard employees to ensure effective work completion and adherence to company policies.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and inspect material handling equipment to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Plan staffing and resources to meet workload demands and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records, including trailer, seal, and temperature checks.
  • Coordinate the unloading, storing, staging, checking, tagging, handling, and loading of freight between the warehouse and inbound and outbound trailers.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the dock and warehouse areas, including proper functionality of doors, dock plates, and material handling equipment.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure efficient workflow, safety, sanitation, cost controls, productivity, accuracy, team environment, and customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with management and customer service personnel to respond to customer requirements and requests.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with FFE team members, leading and communicating as needed to maximize individual and team performance.
  • Assist in developing warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, enforcing and evaluating policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all loads received into the warehouse and shipped out of the warehouse, completing any required inspection paperwork thoroughly and at the time of receipt of shipment.
  • Ensure all incoming products and packaging meet specifications, and that all freight is properly identified and labeled on all incoming and outgoing shipments.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (College Degree Preferred)
  • 3+ years of LTL transportation/dock experience
  • Ability to work any shift, any day or days of the week
  • Proficient in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • AS400 experience is preferred, but not required
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems where work is defined with established instructions and processes
  • Ability to work under close detailed instruction
  • Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures, and Code of Conduct
  • Must be able to interact well with others
  • Must be able to work independently or in a team setting
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment
