The Senior Fleet Mechanic is a key member of the US Foods, Inc. team responsible for ensuring the optimal condition and safety of diesel equipment.

Job Summary

This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing tractors, trailers, reefers, and other heavy-duty diesel equipment. The successful candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic, a valid Class-A CDL license, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, and reefers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Manage repair documentation and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with the transportation team to resolve road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid Class-A CDL license, DOT certified preferred.
  • At least 7 years of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic or reefer mechanic, or a combination of both.
  • Demonstrated independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Prior experience in administering appropriate PM programs.
  • Able to read and understand technical and service manuals.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated base salary for this role is between $22 and $38 per hour, depending on relevant experience and education. Benefits may include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, short-term and long-term disability, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance.
