About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance (MR) equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, including routine musculoskeletal, neurological, and orthopedic imaging.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate MR equipment to perform diagnostic procedures, ensuring accurate and high-quality images.
  • Obtain medical history from patients, compare requisitions to physician's orders, and prepare and administer contrast media as directed.
  • Position patients and select proper scanning factors, adjusting factors to attain the appropriate images.
  • Post-process images, accurately identifying and labeling patient information, medical record unit (MRU) numbers, and location or position of scans.
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system.
  • Identify equipment performance issues, perform quality assurance tests, and report malfunctioning equipment to appropriate staff.
Requirements
  • Registered Technologist (RT) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) registration and certification issued by the ARRT within 2 years.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Advanced training beyond high school in Radiologic Technology.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders frequently throughout the workday. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from the floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance. You may be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, and magnetic hazards, as well as blood and body fluids, and must wear personal protective equipment as necessary.
