Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cleaning Specialist to join our team at LakeHouse Kalamazoo. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our community.

Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning duties in assigned areas, including apartment homes, common areas, lounges, and offices.
  • Floor Care: Sweep, dust, dust mop, and wet mop all floors and stairways; spot clean and vacuum floors, rugs, carpets, and runners.
  • Facility Maintenance: Clean, sanitize, and polish lavatory, shower, and sink fixtures and facilities; stock dispensers as necessary.
  • Laundry Services: Collect, clean, and redistribute community laundry; maintain commercial laundry equipment in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure cleaning chemicals are stored and locked when not in use; keep cords, carts, equipment, and other hazards out of the way at all times.
  • Reporting and Communication: Report any needed repairs, supply, and equipment needs to the Lead Housekeeper.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively speaking the primary language of the residents.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms; frequently required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lifting and Moving: Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
