Tact Staff is looking for a Traveling CT Imaging Specialist for an exciting opportunity.

Role Summary: The CT Imaging Specialist is responsible for performing computed tomography procedures and related techniques, generating sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation, and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conducts complex CT imaging procedures.
  2. Utilizes professional judgment to review and obtain patient clinical histories, ensuring documentation is accurate.
  3. Prepares and reviews contrast questionnaires with patients and/or family members.
  4. Administers contrast media as prescribed by licensed practitioners.
  5. Verifies patient prescriptions and communicates with radiologists and referring physicians as necessary.
  6. Confirms insurance authorization for exams and coordinates with finance for re-verification.
  7. Obtains outside studies and schedules them appropriately.
  8. Provides exam copies to patients and requesting physicians.
  9. Evaluates radiographs for proper identification and diagnostic value.
  10. Gathers relevant information to prepare protocols for scanning and ensures patient safety.
  11. Prepares patients for scanning, including necessary shielding and immobilization.
  12. Determines appropriate contrast types and dosages.
  13. Offers clear explanations and instructions to patients, addressing any questions or concerns.
  14. Monitors patients for adverse reactions during procedures.
  15. Maintains adherence to departmental policies and standards.
  16. Handles physical demands of the role, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  17. Recognizes and addresses the unique needs of diverse patient populations.
Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning.
  • Understanding of CT software and hardware mechanics.
  • Proficient in using PACS systems.
  • ARRT (CT) certification required within twelve months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within three months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six months of CT experience.
  • Familiarity with Epic and other HIS/RIS systems.
  • ARRT certified R.T. (CT) license preferred.
