Job Overview

Position Summary: This role reports directly to the Warehouse Manager and is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations during the designated shift. The supervisor will facilitate effective communication between shifts and manage the performance of assigned staff, including conducting performance evaluations and addressing any disciplinary matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign work tasks to all second shift warehouse personnel, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and delivery timelines.
  • Supervise the loading and unloading of freight, adhering to customer specifications.
  • Manage local, regional, and over-the-road drivers, providing updates and workflow adjustments as necessary.
  • Inspect deliveries for packaging quality and material condition, notifying relevant personnel of any issues with clear and precise information.
  • Oversee the processing of shipment documentation, including the scanning of Bills of Lading.
  • Ensure accurate recording and verification of all shipments against accompanying paperwork for incoming and outgoing freight.
  • Monitor shipment quality and accuracy in accordance with customer specifications.
  • Ensure that staff is trained on customer requirements and that any changes are communicated effectively.
  • Maintain the Tee Card board and TMW system with up-to-date information.
  • Engage with customers to address inquiries and implement necessary actions.
  • Communicate via email at the end of each shift to ensure a seamless transition of daily operations, addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Prioritize the safety, training, and development of employees, drivers, and contractors in compliance with OSHA and company policies.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient completion of all data entry tasks.
  • Review and approve employee timesheets for payroll, including adjustments for temporary staff and overtime management.
  • Conduct daily facility inspections, reporting any equipment or maintenance needs to the Warehouse Director.
  • Ensure compliance with AIB processes and guidelines, including training for handling food products.
  • Complete all safety and equipment checklists as per established procedures, issuing corrective actions as needed.
  • Manage accident reporting procedures and ensure proper care for any injured employees, notifying HR and management as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Warehouse Manager or COO.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a warehouse setting.
  • Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in dispatch and dock supervision.
  • Familiarity with Smart Turn or TMW software is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and requirements.

Education:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Some college education is preferred.
