Position Overview:

The Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for assessing patients, developing, and implementing physical therapy interventions, as well as monitoring patient progress throughout the treatment process. All evaluations and treatments are conducted under the guidance of a licensed medical professional, in accordance with established regulations. The specialist will collaborate with team members to ensure the delivery of high-quality care, encompassing patient treatment, ongoing education, infection control, and quality assurance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Fostering a collaborative environment to guarantee safe and effective patient care delivery.
  • Engaging with various patient service departments and leveraging interdisciplinary insights to execute patient care strategies.
  • Delivering care tailored to individual patient needs based on comprehensive medical assessments and established care plans.
  • Administering treatments and evaluating patient responses to rehabilitation in alignment with professional standards.
  • Documenting all treatment activities in compliance with industry standards within the Electronic Health Record (E.H.R.), ensuring accurate coding of services rendered.
  • Participating in departmental meetings and educational sessions, taking responsibility for enhancing professional knowledge and skills.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Adhering to HIPAA regulations.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Duties:

Overseeing Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA) and Physical Therapy Technicians (PT Tech).

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree; certification from a Physical Therapy program accredited by the Texas State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners, as per the Texas Physical Therapy Practice Act.
