At Magnet Medical, we are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to operate our CT scanners in Puyallup, Washington.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist. As a CT scanner operator, you will be responsible for obtaining high-quality images of patients using computed tomography (CT) scanners.
You will work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to determine the appropriate imaging procedures and assist in diagnosing medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:- Patient Preparation and Communication:
- Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining the procedure, answering any questions, and ensuring they are comfortable.
- Verify patient information, including medical history, allergies, and prior imaging, to ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate imaging protocols.
- Operation of CT Equipment:
- Operate and calibrate the CT scanner, ensuring proper settings for each scan, including parameters such as radiation dose, slice thickness, and imaging protocols.
- Administer contrast agents or dye injections (under physician or radiologist guidance) to enhance image clarity during certain CT procedures.
- Image Quality and Review:
- Review the CT images for quality, ensuring that all required areas are captured and the images meet diagnostic standards.
- Work closely with radiologists to ensure that images are of sufficient quality to support diagnosis.
- Patient Safety and Comfort:
- Follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, including using the lowest possible dose for effective imaging and utilizing shielding where appropriate.
- Maintain a sterile, safe, and clean environment in the CT room, ensuring all equipment is sanitized between patients.
The salary for this position is estimated at $145,000 per year, based on 36 hours of work per week and 12-hour shifts. This amount may vary depending on experience and qualifications.

Requirements and QualificationsTo be considered for this position, you must have:
- A degree in Radiologic Sciences or a related field.
- Certification as a Registered Technologist (RT) in Radiography.
