Job Summary:

Atrium Health is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality images for diagnostic purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interview patients to obtain a complete medical history and review electronic medical records to obtain pertinent clinical information.
  • Record medical history on requisitions and correlate other test results and laboratory data with the exam being performed.
  • Evaluate the technical quality of images and consult with a radiologist if necessary.
  • Inform nursing personnel of any changes in the patient's condition and assist in code blue procedures during medical emergencies.
  • Perform MRI scanning and assist physicians/PA during invasive procedures, adhering to bloodborne pathogens, isolation, and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Operate radiology computer systems to enter orders and charge procedures/supplies, and document contrast administration in the medication administration record.
  • Assist other medical personnel, such as anesthesia, when performing exams or services in conjunction with a MRI scan.
  • Maintain knowledge of all MRI safety requirements for both staff and patients while in and around magnetic fields.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of MRI safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to lift and move patients as needed.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
