About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to join the VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION team as a Vascular Surgeon. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our vascular surgery program.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in outpatient clinic settings, inpatient units, cath lab, and operative care.
  • Maintain professional competency, courtesy, and flexibility and provide the necessary services of this specialty.
  • Perform all aspects of Vascular Surgery within approved credentials and privileges.
  • Participate in program planning, objectives, policies, and standards essential to delivery of quality care.
  • Participate in all aspects of the Vascular selection.
  • Manage patient workload within available staffing, which may include support of mid-levels, student, and resident education.
  • Document all clinical encounters consistent with established guidelines.
Requirements
  • United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Preferred Experience

Fellowship training in Vascular Surgery leading to eligibility for board certification.
