POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Collaborate closely with the maintenance and management teams to optimize all available resources across production shifts, fostering an efficient and effective operation by nurturing each maintenance employee to reach their fullest potential.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee and implement policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Ensure that maintenance areas are safe, free from hazards, and promote adherence to all safety protocols.
  • Manage resources across all shifts to meet production targets.
  • Communicate effectively with production supervisors, crew leaders, and technicians regarding machine downtimes, duration, and expected recovery times.
  • Maintain awareness of daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly tasks to be accomplished.
  • Facilitate daily meetings between shifts with crew leaders and the maintenance team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and teamwork within the Maintenance department.
  • Enforce all company policies, guidelines, and programs consistently and fairly.
  • Contribute to the annual objectives set for each review period, ensuring personal goals align with the company's overarching goals.
  • Continuously assess daily performance, staffing, and downtime to enhance response times to production changes, optimize personnel utilization, and minimize losses.
  • Ensure adequate staffing for daily operations.
  • Monitor downtime against target levels.
  • Track scrap levels against established targets.
  • Maintain oversight of paperwork and data throughout the day.
  • Collaborate with Engineering on new equipment installations and processes, facilitating their successful implementation.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • 5-8 years of practical experience in maintenance, preventative maintenance, and service work on production machinery.
  • Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software, along with project development and scheduling tools.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge acquired through on-the-job training regarding company products, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in operating various equipment necessary for job performance.
  • Capable of multitasking and managing time effectively.
