Job Overview

The Senior Tax Consultant at Thomas V Stephen & Co., PC will play a pivotal role in managing a variety of tax returns while providing oversight and guidance to junior staff members. This position offers flexibility in work arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Possess 3-5 years of experience in Public Tax and Accounting.
  • Prepare tax returns for Homeowners Associations, Partnerships, Individuals, Corporations, Franchise entities, and Not-for-Profit organizations.
  • Provide training to staff accountants on diverse tax preparation processes as needed.
  • Review and assess tax returns completed by junior accountants.
  • Collaborate with the controller to manage IRS examinations.
  • Conduct thorough tax research and execute tax calculations for clients.
  • Engage with clients to offer advice on tax planning and compliance strategies.
  • Handle various additional projects as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation is mandatory.
  • CPA certification is advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in Not-for-Profit, high net worth individuals, real estate, construction, mergers & acquisitions, and service industries is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and maintain organization.
  • Strong team collaboration skills.
  • Exceptional leadership qualities and client relationship management capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to adhere to deadlines and manage engagement time effectively.
  • Familiarity with software such as UltraTax, File In Time, Microsoft Office Suite, Pro-Systems Engagement, CCH, QuickBooks, and Peachtree is beneficial.
