Reserve Police Officer

**Job Description:**

The City of Helotes is seeking a Reserve Police Officer to serve as a non-paid officer conducting duties as a school resource officer, court security, and special event/city sponsored security. The ideal candidate will be required to volunteer 24 hours per month, primarily Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform external security functions at elementary schools within the city.
• Conduct bailiff duties for scheduled municipal court sessions.
• Conduct duties as directed for city-sponsored special events.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of City, State, and Federal laws.
• Ability to understand oral and written instructions and directions.
• Ability to establish and maintain good cooperative relationships with fellow employees and the general public.
• Maintenance of good physical and mental health.
• Ability to practice sound safety and work habits.

Qualifications:

• Licensed as a Peace Officer by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
• Must hold a valid Texas driver's license.

Physical Standards:

• Ability to maintain a physical condition to handle strenuous physical contacts or demands required of the active, uniformed law enforcement officer.
