Job Summary

The Bus Driver Trainer will provide support within the student transportation services area, focusing on classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training of bus drivers and applicants. This role involves addressing school bus regulations and safety procedures, identifying training requirements, and maintaining documentation for audit compliance with state certification and district/state/federal requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver training programs for bus drivers and applicants
  • Conduct behind-the-wheel training and evaluations
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Collaborate with transportation staff to identify training needs
Requirements

Valid California Class A or B commercial driver's license. School Bus Driver's Certificate issued by the California Highway Patrol. Completion of a Certified State Department Education Driver Instructor Course. Valid DMV Medical Card.

Current permanent employees of the district will be awarded seniority points as per the contract. All properly completed applications will be reviewed, and the most highly qualified individuals will be invited to continue in the selection process.

The process may consist of an evaluation and scoring of application materials, written testing, oral interview, and/or performance test to evaluate the applicant's skill, training, and experience.

The EdJoin system will time-out after a 20-minute period of perceived inactivity. Your responses to the supplemental questions are limited to 5,000 characters.
