Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years in specialty

Basic Life Support (BLS) required, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required (both must be American Heart Association certified)

Experience in Meditech (preferred but not required)

Job Responsibilities:
  • Work in a 44-bed unit with a staff of 40.
  • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5, possibly 1:6, for both day and night shifts.
  • Provide care in collaboration with Nurse Aides; generally, a 1:8 ratio, typically 1:10, potentially serving as sitters.
  • Participate in a general orientation for one week, which includes EMR Meditech 6.1 training, followed by two days of floor-specific orientation.
  • Comply with weekend work requirements every other week and holiday shifts as needed.
  • Adhere to a scrub color code: Caribbean Blue.
  • Accept floating assignments across all acute care and cardiology units, catering to medical patients or holding acute care patients in the Emergency Center.
  • Engage in safe, clean, gated housing with regular availability recommended during your assignment.
  • Ensure attendance per the cancellation policy, where 12 hours are allotted every two weeks.
