We are seeking an Educational Professional to join our team at Hand In Hand Creative Learning Center in Essex Junction, Vermont. This role will provide the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of children and families in a stimulating classroom environment.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. They will be responsible for planning and implementing educational curriculum, ensuring a safe and engaging learning space for children from grade three or younger.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development and learning based on Developmentally Appropriate Practices and Vermont Early Learning Standards
  • Maintain frequent communication with families through various means to ensure a collaborative approach to education
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met, creating a healthy classroom environment in accordance with state regulations
  • Pursue ongoing professional development to ensure continuous quality improvement
Requirements:
  • Meet the Vermont State Regulations for a Teacher Associate
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; higher education degree or certification preferred
  • At least 20 years of age required; strong oral and written communication skills essential
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with staff, children, and parents; excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills necessary
  • Current Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Certification required; Background Check and Fingerprinting Clearance also necessary
  • Mandated Reporter Training and Vermont Orientation Training highly valued

To be considered for this position, you must meet one of the following qualifications:

  • Hold a Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level Three (3) Certificate
  • Have an associate degree from an accredited college with a major or concentration in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, or Child and Family Services, and at least 12 months of experience working with groups of children from grade three or younger
  • Complete the Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program and obtain a Certificate of Completion
  • Hold a Child Care Certificate from the Community College of Vermont, and have at least 12 months of experience working with groups of children from grade three or younger
  • SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETE TWENTY ONE (21) COLLEGE CREDITS WITH AN EARLY CHILDHOOD OR SCHOOL AGE FOCUS AND AT LEAST TWELVE (12) MONTHS EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH GROUPS OF CHILDREN FROM GRADE THREE (3) OR YOUNGER
