OD Operator

An OD Operator at Greenleaf Corporation operates OD grinders and selected CNC machining equipment for the production of machined carbide and ceramic cutting tips to precision tolerances on support grinders.

Responsibilities include pre-setting and maintaining tooling and equipment, reading and interpreting router, blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements and set-up procedures, calculating figures and amounts, and performing equipment maintenance.

The ideal candidate will have experience with blueprint reading, ability to calculate figures and amounts, and strong analytical skills. Key Responsibilities:

• Operate OD grinders and selected CNC machining equipment to produce machined carbide and ceramic cutting tips to precision tolerances
• Pre-set and maintain tooling and equipment
• Read and interpret router, blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical data to determine tooling requirements and set-up procedures
• Calculate figures and amounts, such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Perform equipment maintenance and comply with safety, quality, and housekeeping procedures
• Verify dimensions of finished work pieces to specifications

Requirements:

• Experience with blueprint reading and ability to calculate figures and amounts
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in a manufacturing environment
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred
