Server Job Description

Ramen Tatsu-Ya is seeking a skilled Server to provide exceptional dining experiences for our guests. As a Server, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive top-notch service and enjoy their meal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service Station Preparation: Ensure service stations are clean, organized, and fully stocked, ready for efficient service.
  • Table Setup: Wipe down and set up tables for service according to the floor chart, ensuring all table settings are accurate and presentable.
  • Restroom Maintenance: Ensure all restrooms are stocked with necessary supplies and are kept clean throughout the shift.
  • Staff Assistance: Assist all front-of-house staff, including hosts, food runners, and kitchen staff, with setup and coordination to ensure a smooth service.
  • Pre-Shift Notes: Take and review proper notes during pre-shift meetings about menu changes and specials, cocktails, and large parties to stay informed.
  • Guest Interaction: Greet tables in a friendly and timely manner, ensuring guests understand the concept and dining style.
  • Allergy and Dietary Restrictions: Double-check with each table about any allergies and dietary restrictions to ensure safe and accurate meal preparation.
  • Alcohol Service Compliance: Comply with alcohol control policies to ensure the responsible service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Order Management: Accurately take food and beverage orders from guests, ensuring clarity and completeness.
  • Check Preparation and Payment: Prepare and present checks to guests, handle payments, and process transactions efficiently and accurately.
  • Customer Complaints: Handle customer complaints or issues professionally, seeking solutions to ensure guest satisfaction, and report any significant complaints to management.
  • Order Communication: Inform the kitchen of large orders and ensure dishes are being coursed correctly to maintain smooth service flow.
  • Closing Procedures: Follow the close-down checklist procedures and check out with a manager before leaving to ensure all tasks are completed and the shift ends smoothly.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications:
    • Previous experience as a server preferred
    • Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and managing reports
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Must be 18+ years old
    • Must successfully obtain Food Handlers & TABC certifications
    • Ability to effectively communicate and follow directions
    • Ability to handle and resolve customer concerns professionally
    • Ability to stand for long periods and manage a busy shift
    • Basic knowledge of food service operations a plus
