The Position: Aveda Barber Educator

Are you a seasoned Barber eager to impart your knowledge and skills to aspiring professionals entering our field? At Douglas J, we seek licensed Barbers who can motivate and instruct our students during both daytime and evening sessions. If you have not yet obtained your Instructor license, this role offers paid training and support to meet state requirements for licensure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver designated classes under the mentorship of the Education Coach & Program Team Lead
  • Assist students in achieving their utmost potential in mastering the curriculum
  • Keep current with the latest developments in the teaching field
  • Uphold professional conduct and ethical standards appropriate for the role
  • Evaluate and return student assignments promptly
  • Instruct students on effective sanitation practices and supervise cleanliness throughout the day
  • Manage classroom dynamics; ensure adherence to school policies and regulations
  • Be a solutions-oriented individual capable of managing classroom challenges
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:

What We Seek:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Barber
  • Possession of a valid State of Tennessee Barber license
  • Familiarity with Aveda products/services/curriculum is advantageous, though not mandatory
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to hold peers accountable
  • Capacity to excel in a dynamic, professional educational environment
