Survey Party Chief

As a key member of our survey division at American Engineering, the Survey Party Chief will lead a team of field surveyors in collecting and processing geospatial data using advanced equipment and techniques.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of field surveyors in conducting field surveys, collecting data, and performing manual labor such as clearing vegetation and undergrowth.
- Conduct construction layout, data reduction, field note reduction, and calculations as needed.
- Read and understand deeds, plats, sketches, and construction drawings to ensure accurate data collection.
- Identify and understand basic sources of measurement errors to ensure data quality.
- Operate and control surveying instruments, GPS equipment, and calculators to collect and process data.
- Regularly walk, stand, crouch, or stoop, and carry equipment up, down, and across irregular terrain to access survey sites.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to work extended hours, including Saturdays, and potential travel out of town for up to a week at a time.
- Valid driver's license.
