Position Summary

The role of an Oyster Preparation Specialist involves executing production tasks efficiently while adhering to a fast-paced work environment across various production areas.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Exemplify and apply The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence, and Teamwork) while fostering a collaborative atmosphere.
  • Assess product quality, categorize by grade, and sort according to size.
  • Package finished products appropriately.
  • Separate oyster clusters and expertly shuck oyster shells.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of the work area.
  • Utilize proper techniques across all production sectors.
  • Maintain designated inventory levels as directed.
  • Communicate inventory material status effectively.
  • Uphold safety standards within the facility.
  • Utilize production equipment correctly and safely.
  • Keep the workspace organized and tidy at all times.
  • Work autonomously with minimal oversight.
  • Provide assistance for additional tasks as required.
  • Carry out other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in oyster shucking is essential.
  • Familiarity with food processing machinery, sanitation protocols, food safety practices, and the safe operation of forklifts and powered pallet jacks is advantageous but not mandatory.

Compensation

This position operates on a Piece-Work basis with a guaranteed minimum wage of $16.28 per hour.
