Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team at Marathon Petroleum. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of petroleum products to regional terminals, refineries, and various other locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform pre-trip inspections on equipment to ensure compliance with MPC policy and Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Drive a tank truck or tractor-trailer to transport products in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Perform post-trip inspections and complete all regulatory and customary paperwork.
  • Communicate incidents, including safety and environmental concerns, according to company procedures.
  • Report equipment issues in a timely manner.
  • Follow and maintain all safety rules and operating procedures, including all DOT regulations.
Requirements
  • Active Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  • Active CDL Endorsements: Hazardous Materials and Tank Vehicle.
  • Ability to work up to a 12-hour AM/PM shift.
  • Ability to work hours beyond schedule.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
  • Ability to work on elevated spaces: 30+ feet on graded elevation.
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, and/or pull 50-65 lbs.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to grip a steering wheel for extended periods of time.
Screening Requirements
  • Maintain a satisfactory driving record and provide consent to company for review of driving record(s).
  • Pass required drug and alcohol screening(s).
  • Complete DOT physical and maintain current medical card.
  • Pass three-year DOT safety background check and seven-year criminal background check.
  • Pass pre-trip exam and road test to demonstrate proficiency operating required equipment.
