The Lead Video Content Creator is tasked with producing engaging short-form films and videos that align with the university's marketing and communication objectives. This role involves distributing content across the university's digital platforms and beyond. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of short-form cinematography, audio production, video editing, and online video distribution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize and propose innovative ideas and topics for video projects.
  • Develop storyboards, scripts, and oversee the shooting and editing of video content.
  • Coordinate necessary resources, including talent and crew, for video production.
  • Manage video assets, including equipment and digital files.
  • Create and adhere to production schedules for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to devise video strategies that enhance digital marketing efforts.
  • Contribute to the development of content marketing strategies and corresponding video materials.
  • Implement microstory techniques across various platforms (desktop, mobile, etc.).
  • Assist in budget estimations for video projects and ensure adherence to financial constraints.
  • Lead and mentor a team of student interns in video production techniques.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends in online video, particularly within the educational sector.
  • Act as a liaison for visual storytelling initiatives with Media Services and other university departments.
  • Supervise video production interns as needed.
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by departmental needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in video production, proficient in Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of engaging professionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, creative short-form video content on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of documentary-style storytelling through video.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and influence team outcomes.

Technological Proficiency

  • Extensive knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Adobe Audition, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop.

  • Proficient in Google Apps and Microsoft Office Suite.
