Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Bixby Public Schools. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining the district's fleet of vehicles in a safe and dependable operating condition.

• Vehicle Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance on district vehicles within established service schedules.
• Diagnostic and Repair Services: Diagnose problems, repair, overhaul, and replace external engine parts, brakes, differentials, and rear assemblies.
• Inspection and Quality Control: Inspect, adjust, repair, and overhaul brakes, differentials, and rear assemblies to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Interior and Exterior Maintenance: Repair and replace seats and seat covers as needed, and perform required inspections of all district vehicles.
• Workplace Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, free from debris that could result in injury to district employees.
• Additional Responsibilities: Ability to drive bus routes when requested, adhere to district policies and procedures, and perform other duties assigned by supervisor or administrator.

• Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and experience working on gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other aspects of heavy-duty trucks, pickups, and automobiles.
• Certifications and Licenses: Possess or obtain a valid Oklahoma Class A or B Commercial Driver's License with passenger and school bus endorsements/air brake qualifications, and obtain and maintain a State Inspection Certificate.
• Physical and Mental Demands: Ability to pass an annual physical exam and to pass all required drug screenings, and be at least 18 years of age.
