Nurse Specialist

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). As a RN, you will be responsible for assessing and admitting patients, administering medications, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and admit patients, conducting thorough evaluations to identify their needs and develop individualized care plans
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to coordinate patient care and achieve optimal outcomes
- Provide education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to take an active role in their care and recovery
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices that enhance patient care and safety
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or North Carolina
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 1 year of hire
- Emergency Care - ACLS & PALS or ENPC certification within 1 year of hire
- ONS/ONCC or Sentara-approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire
