We are seeking a skilled Medical Imaging Specialist to join our team at Arnot Health. This role involves performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using nuclear medicine technology.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform all diagnostic Nuclear Medicine/Nuclear Cardiology diagnostic procedures, including quality control of equipment, reviewing physician orders, preparing patients, injecting radiopharmaceuticals, and acquiring images.
- Prepare appropriate dosages of radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic procedures, which includes scheduling patients, ordering unit doses, preparing radiopharmaceutical kits, calculating dosages, and managing bulk Tc99m.
- Manage radioactive materials and waste in accordance with departmental, Arnot Health, and New York State regulations.
- Perform therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures, including working closely with referring offices, ensuring proper patient work-up, and following radiation safety precautions.
- Conduct mobile Nuclear Cardiology exams at various Arnot Health physician offices, involving driving a van, setting up mobile gamma cameras, and working independently with nurses, physicians, and patients.
- Certification or eligibility for certification in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRT
- Formal degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology (preferred)
- New York State licensure in Nuclear Medicine
- Valid driver's license and insurability by Arnot Health
- One year of experience in nuclear medicine technology (preferred but will consider new graduates)
The job requires some physical effort, including exerting up to 100 lbs of force to move objects, bending, reaching, lifting, and moving patients.
Estimated Salary:$70,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience and location.
