Job Description:

As an Occupational Therapist with PACS Inc., you will be responsible for evaluating patients within 24 hours of physician referral, developing effective treatment plans, and treating patients according to the physician's treatment plan. You will also assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides and participate in in-service training programs for facility staff. Additionally, you will supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), aides, and students in direct patient care activities, adhere to state practice regulations, and communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress, problems, and plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patients within 24 hours of physician referral
  • Develop effective treatment plans and obtain necessary approvals from referring physicians
  • Treat patients according to the physician's treatment plan
  • Assist the nursing department in training Restorative Aides
  • Participate in in-service training programs for facility staff
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), aides, and students
  • Maintain clear communication with supervisors and healthcare team members
  • Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification documentation


Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful as an Occupational Therapist with PACS Inc., you must possess a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy, preference for graduates of Master's or Doctorate programs. You must also be a licensed Occupational Therapist in good standing, meeting continuing education requirements. Additionally, you should be proficient in using computer programs like Casamba and Point Click Care, and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The job requires frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing/pulling, and occasional sitting, exerting force as necessary. The work environment is typically low to moderate in noise level, with reasonable accommodations made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
