Interim HealthCare Staffing is seeking a compassionate and skilled Hospice Chaplain to provide spiritual support to patients and their families in Dorchester, Berkeley, and Charleston counties.
Job Summary:The Hospice Chaplain will conduct assessments of patients' spiritual needs, provide direct spiritual services, and coordinate with community clergy and spiritual counselors to ensure timely and effective support. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:- Conduct spiritual assessments and develop plans of care to meet patients' spiritual needs
- Provide direct spiritual services, including counseling, prayer, and sacraments
- Coordinate with community clergy and spiritual counselors to ensure timely and effective support
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of patient care plans
- Document services provided and maintain accurate records
- Recruit and manage a network of community clergy and spiritual counselors
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare staff on spiritual issues and care
- Graduate of an accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv, or equivalent)
- 2 years of experience working with death and dying, terminal individuals, and their families or caregivers
- Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care and ability to work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Competitive pay ($21.00 to $24.00 DOE)
