Direct Support Professional

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team at Capitol City Residential Healthcare. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead safe, self-directed lives and participate fully in their communities.
Job Summary:The primary purpose of the Direct Support Professional is to provide support and assistance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their daily lives. This includes assisting with activities of daily living, promoting physical health and emotional well-being, and providing responsible and accountable financial management.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide quality care and support to individuals in their homes, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Ensure supports and services are person-centered, tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of each individual.
- Prepare and serve meals, snacks, and beverages, promoting healthy eating habits and dietary options.
- Assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to participate in community-based activities, such as shopping, social events, and recreational outings.
- Document daily reports electronically, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of individual progress and needs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
