Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Environmental Service Technician to join our team at Charles T. Sitrin Health Care Center. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment for our residents and staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and follow work assignments from supervisors on a daily and monthly schedule.
  • Read chemical names, distinguish appropriate chemicals for tasks, and handle chemicals safely to protect yourself, residents, and fellow staff members.
  • Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs, including water mop buckets and household-sized garbage bags.
  • Put clean linen in the linen room and distribute it to other departments.
  • Operate floor machines and perform pre- and post-operation cleaning tasks.
  • Run automatic floor machines and perform cleaning tasks throughout the building, including washing windows, shampooing carpeting, and washing walls as assigned by supervisors.
  • Understand and perform procedures for stripping, waxing, and buffing floors as assigned.
  • Follow safety practices, including floor signage, locked closets, and properly stored chemicals.
  • Remove trash and transport soiled linen at the start and end of each shift day and evening.
  • Clean elevators and emergency staircases daily and as assigned by supervisors.
  • Ensure overall cleanliness of all common and public areas of the facility.
  • Perform duties according to the highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facility's corporate compliance plan and all applicable governing laws.

Requirements:

  • Ability to follow oral and written directions and communicate orally and in writing issues related to work assignments.
  • Ability to cooperate with other staff members.
  • Ability to use equipment required for the job.
