Certification Requirements

  • Open book assessments will be conducted on skills acquired, with resources provided to ensure success.
  • A minimum score of 90% is required to maintain employment.
Job Details
  • Seeking an RN with a valid Iowa or compact license.
  • Shifts are 12 hours long, with a guarantee of 36 hours per week.
  • The contract duration is set for 13 weeks.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant unit experience is required.
  • Must possess a valid Iowa or compact nursing license.
Scheduling Information
  • 12-hour shifts with self-scheduling options available.
  • Weekend shifts are required every third weekend, including Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Orientation includes one week of classroom training followed by a practical shift on the unit.
Unit Specifics
  • The unit consists of 28 beds plus an additional 22 overflow beds.
  • Patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5.
  • Charge nurses are present on each shift and do take patient assignments.
  • Patient care technicians are available with a ratio of 1:10.
  • Monitor technicians are present in the ICU, and RNs are not required to interpret their own telemetry strips.
  • Floating to PCU and behavioral health units may be necessary.
  • Uniforms are navy blue scrubs.
