About the Role:

The Progressive Care Unit Nurse will provide high-quality care to hemodynamically stable or predictably unstable patients on the medical/surgical unit. This includes providing physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support to patients. The nurse will work with a team to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care to patients on the in-patient unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Collaborate with other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes.
  • Operate advanced medical equipment, including A-lines, invasive lines, chest tubes, and patients requiring noninvasive and invasive ventilatory support.
  • Provide care for patients with central lines, chest tubes, nasogastric tubes, continuous bladder irrigation, arterial lines, multiple IVs, and patients requiring short-term ventilation support.
  • Act as a clinical leader and assist with precepting staff.
  • Provide direction to RN, LPN, CNA, Housekeeping Staff, and Dietary Staff.

Requirements:

  • Current State of Montana RN Licensure.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • EPNC, TNCC certification preferred.
  • Experience in an advanced Medical/Surgical Unit and recent Critical Care or Progressive Care Nursing is required.
