We are seeking a dynamic, self-driven, and insightful Venture Finance Associate with over 5 years of professional experience. This role encompasses a dual focus.

Firstly, you will oversee financial management and reporting for Danone Venture's portfolio companies and related investments, collaborating closely with financial leaders of portfolio companies and coordinating with Danone's accounting and finance teams.

Secondly, you will contribute to strategic evaluations and insights concerning our investment areas and the execution of our investment strategies, which involves sourcing opportunities, conducting investment research, developing financial and quantitative models, performing due diligence, and crafting investment proposals.

This Associate will also play a crucial role in the operational aspects of the team, assisting in the management of daily activities that support broader initiatives within Danone.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee financial management and reporting for DV's investments and consolidated entities. Collaborate with finance leads from portfolio companies and Danone finance teams to ensure accurate reporting of Danone Venture's financial and investment positions.
  • Partner with the DV Managing Director and Danone accounting and finance teams in the US and Europe to update forecasts and provide necessary investment insights.
  • Conduct strategic analyses in investment focus areas. Identify emerging trends, relevant funds and programs (universities, accelerators, incubators), and noteworthy startups.
  • Assist in the investment process by identifying potential investment opportunities, conducting screenings, performing due diligence on prospective companies, researching industries and competitors, and developing financial models.
  • Execute market research and due diligence for potential investments, including valuation and financial return assessments.
  • Support team initiatives that enhance the overall operations of Danone Ventures.

Candidate Profile

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related fields from a prestigious university; an MBA is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, ideally in Investment Banking, Equity Research, Private Equity, Venture Capital, or Strategy Consulting.
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and corporate finance practices.
  • Proven experience in financial modeling, research and analysis, and presentation development.
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • A keen interest and experience in the food & beverage sector or similar consumer industries.
  • Familiarity with syndicated data sources (IRI, SPINS, Nielsen) is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is essential.
  • A motivated self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, lean environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong organizational abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a small team.
  • Willingness to work in a hybrid capacity, with flexibility for both remote and in-office work.
The compensation range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
