Milieu Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Milieu Specialist to join our team at Carle Health. As a key member of our behavioral health team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and supportive environment for our patients.

• Therapeutic Environment and Safety Focus: Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, caring, and nurturing environment for patients. Support the treatment process by providing education on ways to minimize behavioral outbursts through preventative strategies.
• Assessment Focus: Obtain pertinent clinical data from patients and significant others. Ensure patients are treated with respect and dignity, and comply with legal components of admissions and treatment recommendations.
• Performance Improvement Focus: Assist in Performance Improvement activities for the area. Actively promote and achieve customer satisfaction, and participate in Root Cause Analyses and development of action plans.

• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, or related field required.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Ability to maintain and tolerate stressful patient interactions and situations.
