The State of Florida is looking for a Senior Clerical Specialist to join our team in the Department of Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing advanced independent clerical statistical work, which includes examining data, collecting and recording documents, reporting errors, and providing error prevention training.

Key Responsibilities:
* Examine data from birth certificates collected from all home births for accuracy, codes, signs, dates, and sorts appropriately.
* Verify monthly hospital birth log with e-vitals computer printout of birth certificates received in Jacksonville.
* Accumulate and analyze data from birth, death, and fetal death certificates, compiling and tabulating data as requested for various reports and graphs within the Florida Department of Health in Bay County.
* File burial transit permits weekly after matching with death certificates received from funeral homes.
* Sell computer-certified birth and death certificates to qualified clients.
* Transfer original certificates daily to the state office in Jacksonville.
* Perform various other related duties in the Vital Statistics department as requested.
* Collect money from the sale of birth and death certificates.
* Use the HMS computer program to receive payment for birth and death certificates purchased.

Requirements:
* Experience using office equipment, Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
* Ability to serve in a confidential capacity where discretion is consistently required throughout internal and external communications, documentation, and inquiry.
* Valid driver's license.
