Job SummaryThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will act in a manner consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Beaufort Memorial Hospital. This role will provide routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in accordance with the South Carolina State Board of Nursing as outlined in the South Carolina Title 40 Nurse Practice Act.
Key Responsibilities- Collects healthcare data and administers medications and treatments as prescribed by an authorized licensed provider.
- Implements nursing interventions and tasks, provides basic teaching for health promotion and maintenance, and assists in the evaluation of responses to interventions.
- Provides for the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care rendered directly or indirectly and participates with other healthcare providers in the planning and delivery of healthcare.
- Delegates nursing tasks to qualified others and performs additional acts requiring special education and training.
- High school graduate or equivalent; completion of a Practical Nursing Program approved by the State Board of Nursing.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, mature reasoning ability, and strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
- Exceptional customer service skills, exhibits professional conduct, and takes ownership of own actions.
- BLS certification required prior to first clinical shift (must be issued by the American Heart Association).
- Licensed in South Carolina.
