Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled educator to join our team at Rochester Prep. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated teacher who can create engaging lessons and inspire our students to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • You will teach a rigorous curriculum that emphasizes analysis of World, US History, American Government, and Economics, preparing students for Advanced Placement (AP) and collegiate level coursework.
  • You will facilitate student-led discussions of historical topics, where students grapple with open-ended guiding questions, engage in peer-to-peer debate, and synthesize arguments.
  • You will guide students to understand the author's claim and the power of sourcing while developing skills of argumentation, corroboration, inquiry, and historiography through primary and secondary source analysis.
  • You will build an inclusive and safe environment where students feel empowered to express evidence-based opinions and perspectives.
  • You will work with the History department to determine academic and engagement goals for students.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting compensation for this role based in Rochester is between $50,000 to $64,700. Our comprehensive benefits package includes generous paid time off, extensive training and development opportunities, choice of three health insurance plans, pre-tax flexible spending and health saving accounts, and more.

We value staff tenure and do not currently cap salary ranges for current staff members. Additional benefits include financial planning and wellness tools, dependent care FSA, backup childcare and daycare discounts, paid leave of absence, fully paid parental leave, and mental health and counseling support.
