Job Summary

We are seeking experienced trusts and estates attorneys to join our team in Sarasota, Florida. As a trusts and estates attorney with Williams Parker, you will work closely with our clients to provide the legal framework to carefully address and answer all questions pertaining to estate planning, tax planning, business succession, charitable giving, and retirement planning goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with clients to provide legal advice and guidance on estate planning, tax planning, business succession, charitable giving, and retirement planning goals.
  • Represent clients, or their fiduciaries, in estate and trust administration and, when necessary, in probate litigation proceedings and tax controversies involving estate and gift tax matters.
  • Develop and implement effective estate planning strategies to meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in laws and regulations affecting trusts and estates, and provide guidance to clients on how to navigate these changes.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and staff to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.
Requirements
  • JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Florida Bar admission or willingness to sit for the Florida Bar exam in the near future.
  • Experience in estate and trust planning, including excellent tax research, legal document drafting, and preparing and reviewing estate tax returns, gift tax returns, and trust income tax returns.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team of attorneys and professional staff in handling sophisticated and complex estate planning, tax planning, and probate and trust administration matters.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
