This position serves as the initial point of contact for patients within the outpatient department and clinic settings. The associate is responsible for welcoming and registering patients, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed, and gathering essential demographic and insurance details.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Welcome patients and visitors, addressing routine inquiries and providing assistance as needed.
  2. Manage incoming calls, screening and directing them appropriately while taking messages when necessary.
  3. Facilitate patient registration by collecting demographic and insurance information, verifying coverage, and processing co-payments and outstanding balances.
  4. Coordinate patient appointments, including scheduling new visits and managing cancellations or rescheduling requests.
  5. Provide patients with clear and accurate information regarding appointment preparations and necessary arrival times.
  6. Update patient records with any changes in insurance or financial responsibilities, ensuring effective communication with patients.
  7. Ensure the accuracy and completeness of patient and insurance information, adhering to government and third-party payer requirements.
  8. Identify and report any registration-related issues to the appropriate departments for resolution.
  9. Monitor patient flow to guarantee efficient and courteous service, assisting with transportation needs and providing directions as required.
  10. Conduct visit closure activities, including checking out patients, scheduling follow-up appointments, and delivering visit summaries.
  11. Handle patient information and documentation, ensuring compliance with required processes.

Work Schedule:

This is a float position with variable hours, typically scheduled Monday through Friday.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare professionals.
  • Proficient in computer usage, including Microsoft Office and electronic communication tools.
  • Experience in data entry with a focus on speed and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions, with the capability to sort and file information systematically.
