Job Summary:

The Delivery Driver position at Revolution Foods is responsible for executing the distribution of our meals and snacks to local schools. This role requires the ability to accurately count items on their truck and timely delivery of quality products while operating a delivery truck on the open roadway. The driver plays a critical role in the customer service process for Revolution Foods, requiring a valid state-issued Driver's license and a good driving record.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify the daily delivery plan and route(s) to make deliveries, maintaining a high level of professional uniform standards and personal hygiene.
  • Maintain proper levels of fuel and execute daily truck checks, inspecting fruits and snacks for quality and bringing issues to the attention of the Operations manager.
  • Work closely with Dispatch to verify daily delivery plan, route(s) for make deliveries, potential road work that could delay or cause re-routing, and confirm customer orders against product deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality product.
  • Engage with school and other representatives when making deliveries, demonstrating excellent customer service skills and communication, maintaining a positive disposition, conduct, and present themselves in a respectful and polite manner at all times.
  • Conduct vehicle pre-check inspections before departing to deliver goods, spot checks product upon delivery and unloading to ensure product quality, and exercise good judgement and operational control of a company vehicle.
  • Pack and load products on to trucks, according to company specifications, and unload truck to meet customer/school program needs.
  • Adhere to proper food handling requirements and temperature checks of chilled products such as milk, dairy, vegetables, etc.
  • Maintain regular communication with the route dispatcher and inform them of traffic and other conditions that may impact timely deliveries.
  • Manage the packing slips and delivery process, having customers sign for receipt of deliveries, noting any rejections or shorted products.
  • Follow company protocol when questions or concerns are raised by customers, being encouraged to be problem solvers and promote Revolution Foods Core values and mission.
  • Follow safe working practices operating the vehicle, obeying speed limits, loading and unloading, and may use pallet jacks, dock plates, wheel chalks, track mileage, straps, handle pallets, and plastic wrap.
  • Keep the truck interior and exterior organized, clean, and sanitary throughout, ensuring proper care of equipment used to move or secure product inventory.
  • Follow all required safe work and food safety practices, including vehicle safety precautions and wearing required PPE in designated areas, correcting and/or reporting any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately.
  • Identify and report vehicle mechanical issues that may occur, supporting preventive maintenance on trucks and equipment, and immediately report any accident or property damage that may occur.
  • May assist kitchen staff with preparation and pack-out tasks as needed, completing a variety of routine admin tasks associated with the work.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Delivery Driver.
  • A valid Class C Driver's license.
  • A clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a company driving test, background check, and drug test.
Working Conditions:

Work is within a factory setting, with chilled temperatures, and occasionally work is required within the freezer area. Routinely exposed to wet, damp, and cold conditions. All PPE is provided.

  • Prolonged standing, walking, and sitting is routinely required.
  • Routinely required to stand, walk, bend, carry, crouch, grasp, hold, kneel, lift, push/pull, reach, sit, squat, stand, stoop, stretch, turn, twist, talk, listen, and communicate with others.
  • May lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • All Revolution Foods Driver's assigned routes are subject to change based on business needs.
  • Assigned routes are not owned by Drivers.
  • All Drivers will have a designated timeframe to complete all daily routes.
  • Based on business needs, Drivers may be asked to periodically assist with additional stops/routes.
