AHRC NYC is seeking a skilled Speech Therapist to join our team in Brooklyn and Downtown Manhattan programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate speech and language functioning to determine therapy needs and develop rehabilitation plans in accordance with physician/nurse practitioner orders.
- Re-evaluate individuals' speech and language functioning to assess progress toward therapeutic goals and determine the need for continuing treatment, according to clinic-specific policy and procedure guidelines.
- Treat individuals with disabilities, disorders, and injuries related to speech and language functioning, utilizing therapeutic devices and equipment to maintain or restore maximum performance of speech and language modalities.
- Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Minimum of one year of speech therapy experience in a healthcare setting or OPWDD experience.
- Current license in New York State as a Speech and Language Pathologist.
- Completion of OSHA and other requirements mandated by NYS DOH and OPWDD.
- Strong effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven capacity to work productively in highly collaborative settings and to coordinate needs of multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the medical community.
- Flexibility to operate in a rapidly changing work environment, with the ability to adapt and be sensitive to organizational culture.
- Committed and collegial team worker.
- Strong commitment to the provision of quality clinical care for underserved individuals.
- Bilingual language skills highly desirable.
