Job Overview

Hydromat is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our technical staff, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, disassembling, assessing, ordering parts, repairing, and testing the functionality of mechanical equipment, including high-precision hydraulic tools and spindle units, to like-new OEM condition.

This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical assemblies, tolerances, and classes of fit, as well as the ability to read drawings and specifications. You will also be responsible for assembling new components and testing functionality using various methods to ensure quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment, including hydraulic tools and spindle units
  • Disassemble and reassemble equipment to assess and repair components
  • Order and procure parts and materials as needed
  • Test and validate equipment functionality to ensure quality
  • Assemble new components and test functionality
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Hydromat machines and equipment
Requirements
  • Two-year certificate from a college or technical school
  • Three to five years of related experience in mechanical component assembly
  • Current Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Driver's license
  • Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies, tolerances, and classes of fit
  • Ability to read drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of Hydromat machines and equipment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with manual toolroom machines, such as bandsaws, drill presses, and surface grinders
  • Familiarity with Fanuc robotics
Work Environment

Hydromat's workplace is climate-controlled, providing a comfortable and productive environment for our employees.

This position requires a first-shift work schedule and the ability to travel as business needs dictate, up to 50% of the time.
