Role Summary:
The RN Clinical Nurse plays a vital role within a collaborative team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers, dedicated to delivering personalized, high-quality, and safe patient care. This position operates within a clinical setting overseen by Nurse Managers and supported by the Wellstar Shared Governance Model.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts the Nursing Process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation, utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Employs analytical and critical thinking skills to ensure individualized care, fostering effective partnerships that recognize the importance of compassionate care in achieving optimal patient outcomes.
- Delivers relationship-centered care tailored to the unique characteristics of diverse populations, adapting service delivery to respect cultural differences.
- Engages patients and their significant others in care planning through effective communication methods, ensuring that patient goals remain central to the care plan.
- Adheres to current clinical practice standards and coordinates the delivery of safe, quality patient care, promoting a professional care delivery model.
- Facilitates interdisciplinary communication and collaboration, ensuring timely documentation and fostering a respectful, inclusive clinical environment.
- Demonstrates teamwork and collaboration, promoting fiscal responsibility and supporting the recruitment and retention of healthcare team members.
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives, engaging all stakeholders in research and the application of evidence-based practices to enhance patient care quality.
- Completes all required competency assessments and ongoing education to maintain professional standards.
- Serves as a mentor and preceptor for nursing staff and students, contributing to the development of a qualified workforce and a healthy work environment.
- Advocates for evidence-based practice and nursing research, participating in decision-making processes regarding patient care products.
- Ensures compliance with healthcare system policies, legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards, including safety goals.
- Engages in data collection and formulates relevant clinical inquiries to advance evidence-based practice.
- Consults with experts and utilizes appropriate resources to address clinical practice questions.
- Proactively plans for patient care across the continuum while delivering direct patient services.
- Contributes to the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with care managers and healthcare team members to achieve optimal practice outcomes.
- Supports the efficient use of human and material resources.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited nursing program is required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Licensure: Must possess a valid Registered Nurse license (Single State or Multi-state Compact) and Basic Life Support certification.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience following completion of an accredited nursing program, with direct patient care experience preferred.
