Occupational Health Specialist

As a skilled Occupational Health Specialist, you will provide safe and effective therapeutic care to patients in a holistic and systemic way. Your responsibilities will include assessing and managing patient care, exercising independent judgment in diagnosis and treatment, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to achieve desired patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive physical and psychological exams to identify priority care needs
- Obtain and document detailed patient histories, identify patients at risk, and prioritize data based on immediate condition and needs
- Practice in accordance with safe and effective standards of care and ensure compliance with professional and ethical standards
- Develop differential diagnoses and plans of care based on data collection and revise as necessary
- Order appropriate tests, treatments, and medications, and consult with interdisciplinary teams as needed
You will utilize evidence-based standards, guidelines, and protocols for care delivery, incorporating data and information to continuously improve care and practice. You will also participate in quality improvement initiatives, assist with process and protocol development, and integrate evidence-based research findings into clinical practice.

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following minimum requirements:
- Certification in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support
- Licensure as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Master's degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post-masters certificate program for nurse practitioners
